In 2025, Silicon Europe plans to strengthen its central role in promoting the European semiconductor industry by working with the newly appointed European Commission and cooperating closely with ESRA (European Semiconductor Regions Alliance). These efforts will be in line with the EU Digital Agenda and the EU Chips Act and will ensure that the European semiconductor sector continues to drive innovation, sustainability and global competitiveness. <\/p>\n
As part of its forward-looking agenda, the Alliance will update its strategic roadmap to fully reflect the evolving geopolitical framework and anticipated challenges. This initiative aims to ensure that Silicon Europe and its member clusters are well positioned to adapt to global trends, manage critical supply chain dependencies and contribute to Europe’s technological sovereignty and resilience. Erasmia Dupenloup, Ola Svedin from OpenTech (Sweden) and Robert Gfrerer from Silicon Alps (Austria) will support Frank B\u00f6senberg in his role and serve as co-chairs. <\/p>\n
Frank B\u00f6senberg explains: “Clusters such as those organized in Silicon Europe are essential to strengthen Europe’s position as a global player in the semiconductor sector. By pooling the expertise of regional ecosystems and in particular small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the continent, we can increase our collective impact, foster innovation and ensure Europe’s competitiveness on a global scale. In 2025, we want to further deepen cooperation with European institutions and stakeholders, while expanding our network to include new clusters. Together, we can achieve the ambitious goals of the EU Chips Act and the Digital Agenda.” <\/p>\n
As widely agreed, Silicon Europe will play an even more important role in fostering collaboration between European semiconductor clusters, addressing supply chain challenges and contributing to a sustainable, innovative and resilient digital future. <\/p>\n
