To make trustworthiness the default of future networks, the leading edge research in Hexa-X-II needs to be carried out in accordance with the paradigm of &quot;trustworthiness by design&quot;. Consequently, the BI contributes to multiple research topics including novel concepts such as combining communications (e. g. wireless links of internet devices) with sensing (e. g. radar for environmental sensing purposes).<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" width=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.pblzr.de\/dacbb27c-1270-4041-b681-e2b95f06f8a1\/2023\/05\/barkhausen-logo-300x150_4.jpg\" data-htmlarea-file-uid=\"17751\" style=\"\" alt=\"\"><br \/>\n&quot;We are happy and proud to be part of the front runners of research to literally see the trustworthiness issues arising in order to cope with them right from the beginning. Eventually we will jointly come up with truly trustworthy technologies for our future networks and devices&quot;, says Prof. Gerhard Fettweis, the founder and scientific director of the BI.<\/p>\n<p>The European Commission (EC) announced the creation of Hexa-X-II, the second phase of the European 6G flagship initiative. This new phase will expand the Hexa-X partner list to 44 organizations that are tasked with creating the pre-standardized platform and system view that will form the basis for many inputs into future 6G standardization.<\/p>\n<p>The Hexa-X-II project has been awarded funding from the EC as part of the first call of the Smart Network and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS-JU). This is the next significant step toward bringing together key stakeholders in Europe. The goal of both Hexa-X and Hexa-X-II is to establish Europe as leader in 6G.<\/p>\n<p>Enabled by the outcomes of Hexa-X innovations, the Hexa-X-II consortium will strive to overcome the following societal challenges:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sustainability: Hexa-X-II will research technologies that contribute to a zero-carbon footprint and limit energy and material consumption<\/li>\n<li>Inclusion: Hexa-X-II aims to provide connectivity to people in developing countries as well as to the under-privileged members of developed societies<\/li>\n<li>Trustworthiness: Hexa-X-II will ensure data transparency, security and privacy, and network robustness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Hexa-X-II project aims to start work on 1 January 2023, with a planned duration of 2.5 years.<br \/>\n<em><strong>Links<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<link http:\/\/www.barkhauseninstitut.org=\"\" -=\"\" arrow-right=\"\">www.barkhauseninstitut.org<br \/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Barkhausen Institut brings its vision into the Hexa-X-II project of making trustworthiness a requirement and taken for granted in the 6G-enabled Internet of Things.
