The Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) has built a new data center to meet the increasing demands of high-performance computing (HPC), which is used for the analysis of big data, complex simulations and, increasingly, the training of artificial intelligence (AI) models. With a usable area of around 400 square meters and a connected load of around 1.4 megawatts, the modern IT infrastructure not only has more space, but also twice as much potential electrical energy as the current data center. After almost three years of construction and an investment of around 10 million euros, the new data center has now officially gone into operation.","thumbnail_url":"https:\/\/cdn.pblzr.de\/dacbb27c-1270-4041-b681-e2b95f06f8a1\/2024\/12\/hzdr-logo-400x300_TEXT.jpg"}
