Hardware from China, cloud and AI solutions from the USA, chips from Taiwan and industrial robots from South Korea: German companies continue to be heavily dependent on digital technologies and services from abroad. At the same time, trust is dwindling, especially in the USA. 9 out of 10 companies (89%) that import digital goods or services see themselves as dependent on them - 51% even \"highly dependent\", 38% \"somewhat dependent\". Only a minority (4%) would be able to survive in the long term if these imports were to cease. To make Europe less dependent on digital imports from abroad, Germany and France have initiated the Summit for European Digital Sovereignty, which will take place in Berlin on November 18. In the run-up to the summit, the digital association Bitkom conducted a representative survey of more than 600 companies with 20 or more employees about their dependence on foreign technologies and services - and the resulting risks.","thumbnail_url":"https:\/\/cdn.pblzr.de\/dacbb27c-1270-4041-b681-e2b95f06f8a1\/2025\/11\/bitkom-logo-400x300_2_TEXT.jpg"}
