The German data center market is growing, but is losing importance internationally. The USA and China in particular are pulling away, while Germany is falling behind in terms of global server stock. While Germany's server stock of 2.4 million units currently accounts for 2.5 percent of the global installed base, this figure was still 3.5 percent in 2015. The performance of data centers, which is measured in watts, also clearly shows the gap, especially compared to pioneering nations such as the USA and China: Germany's data centers currently have an IT connected load of 2.7 gigawatts, which is expected to rise to 4.8 gigawatts by 2030. In contrast, the United States has around twenty times more capacity than Germany, with 48 gigawatts currently and around 95 gigawatts in 2030. These are the findings of the current Bitkom study \"Data centers in Germany: Current market developments 2024\", which was conducted by the Borderstep Institute.","thumbnail_url":"https:\/\/cdn.pblzr.de\/dacbb27c-1270-4041-b681-e2b95f06f8a1\/2024\/11\/bitkom-logo-400x300_TEXT.jpg"}
